About Artist

Hello, my name is Erin Y. Martinez. I am an Native American artist from San Ildefonso Pueblo, New Mexico. I am a  mother of two and have grown up living on my Pueblo (reservation).

I am a self taught artist who is still learning new and exciting ways of creating Art. I consider my Art contemporary and modern. I take our tradition designs, add color and apply them to our everyday traditions and life.

Tun Povi Creations is what I have created to associate all my work under. Tun Povi meaning "Basket Flower" in my Native Tewa Language.

I have enjoyed creating Art since I was young with drawing my favorite cartoons. Art became more interesting during high school with a few art class. I started creating cards for members in my family during holidays. My inspiration to incorporate our traditional and cultural designs came from watching my aunt paint pottery and ornaments.

I owe a lot of my success to my family. They have always encouraged to continue to make the art that I do.
